Water

So ever since I stopped teaching school, I have been terrible at making sure I drink all my water everyday! Teaching you are talking all the time, so I would drink all the time! Now I have to remind myself to eat and drink because I'm so busy making sure that Kenedy eats and drinks! I have also been drinking way too much Diet Coke! The other day I read an article from Beach Body and it said:

"Almost every nutritionist will recommend drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day, but did you know that if you drink iced water versus room-temperature water, your body will burn an extra nine calories per glass? Drinking room-temperature water can burn about 16 calories per glass—that's 25 calories per glass for iced water. So, eight glasses of cool water a day can be responsible for burning 200 calories!"

I knew that water was an essential key to weight loss and healthy living, but I didn't know it actually burned calories. So I have made a new goal: No Diet Coke until I have at least drank 64 oz. of water. My dear friend Heidi Blackner was making fun of me when I verbalized my new goal since she knows how much I love Diet Coke and told me I'd better Blog my daily water intake. Well I won't bore you everyday with my water consumption, but I had to write this for her today! So Heidi Blackner today I drank 16 oz. of Propel and 82 oz. of water today! I did cheat and have one Diet Coke before I had finished my 64 oz., but it was only because we were at the pool and my water was gone and I was really thirsty! I did good for my first day of my new goal. I am way more motivated to drink all my water knowing I am burning calories while doing it! Maybe I can give up running if I drink like 4 gallons of water a day. What do you think Heidi? Just kidding I love they way I feel after we run, I'll just do both and see if I have any weight loss success!

Cottage Cheese

Kenedy loves Cottage Cheese! Every time you give it to her she acts as if it is the first time she has tasted it. She will say "mmmmm" over and over! And there has never been a time that she has not asked for more!

Cheese

Kenedy loves to be chased! It is her favorite thing to play! I will growl at her and say "I'm going to get you and she will start laughing and run. Now at church she will squat down and growl at people because she wants people to chase her. Every time we change her or need her to come to us, she will take off running and giggling. It is pretty cute to watch how excited this silly game makes her. However, it gets a little annoying when you are in hurry to get somewhere and you need to get her ready to go. The other day I decided that I needed to take some pictures of her favorite game for her scrapbook. Every time I would got to click the picture of her running, she would turn around and say "Cheese"! Do you think I take too many pictures for one of her first words to be Cheese? The one time I don't want her to look at the camera she does! She is a stubborn little one, but I love her face!


After taking tons of pictures, we finally got daddy to help us and I got a good one of her running and smiling! Thanks daddy!

Sorry

Kenedy has been having problems with hitting everyone and everything. We have tried time out, talking to her, a little game called "The Hitting Game", The "Nice, Nice Game", smacking her hands, Getting really mad and nothing seems to work. My mom says to just be consistent and I am doing my best, but it is embarrassing to take her places because she always seems to find someone to hit. Well today she smacked me across the face and I told her that was not nice and to say sorry. In the sweetest little voice She said "I Sorry!" It was so cute I wanted her to hit me again so I could hear it again! Mike was not there so he didn't get to hear it, but don't worry later that day she hit our little friend and then followed it with a "I sorry"! I had to turn my head so that she didn't see me start laughing! Parenting can be so hard at times and the most rewarding thing at others! I love it, all of it!

California

We just got home from California! We had so much fun! We left last Saturday and came home today. We went with the Webb's and the McMillans. Every time we all go has a family, Dad rents a house so that we can all be together. It is way nice because we get a private pool and lots of room! Kenedy rode an airplane for the first time and did really well. I brought the biggest bag of stuff for her to do on the plane ride so that she wouldn't drive the whole plane crazy and she fell asleep the minute the pilot started the plane's engines! Sunday we attended church with The Gibson family and hung out at their home. It is so fun to see family that you don't get to see often! Monday we headed to the happiest place on Earth! However, it seemed that the rest of California did too! It was so crowded! We rode maybe five rides all day and did not see any characters! I had the autograph book all ready and we did not get a single autograph! So we headed to California Adventure Land which was half as busy and had a blast! Tuesday and Wednesday we hung out by the pool, played games, read books, and ate too much! I'm going to be working this vacation off for the next month! Thursday we headed back to Disney Land and were very happy to see that it wasn't as crazy! We got to ride several more rides and see some of the characters! However, I forgot the autograph book this time! So we left Disney Land with no autographs! Like Kenedy really cares! I just wanted them for her scrapbook, but I'm sure we will make several trips to Disney Land in the upcoming years and she will have more than enough autographs! Friday we attended our cousin Rob's wedding at the Newport Beach Temple. The temple was beautiful! The bride looked like Cinderella and Rob looked very handsome! After sitting in long traffic with a full bladder and a family laughing hysterically, we arrived at the reception which was a Luau. It was a lot of fun. The food was good and the entertainment was terrific! They sure throw more entertaining weddings in California than we do in Utah. Saturday morning we woke up at 4:00 am to get to the airport and took off for home. Kenedy did not fall asleep until the plane landed in SLC this time! However, she did pretty well on the flight! She kept the people behind us entertained. We had so much fun and were sad to leave, but we were really glad to be back to our home. Kenedy slept for 5 hours when we got home and then went back to bed for the night 3 hours later. I think she missed her bed the most! Thanks for the fun trip Mom and Dad, it was a blast!

Discovery Gateway

We were sick of staying inside because of the rain, so we took off to Discovery Gateway for the Day. It seemed that a lot of other moms had the same idea! It was insane! We were there for about two hours and then we went and ran some errands and then we came back back around 4:30 and it had slowed down a lot! We love going to Discovery Gateway! We bought yearly passes so we get to go quite a bit, but since it has been warm, we mostly play outside, so it was a good break to get out of the sun today! One thing I love about being a mom is playing! I love to play with Kenedy and watch how much fun she has!

The baby area at Discovery Gateway has tons of fun things to play with! They can dress up as beavers, row in a boat, play in the Bird house, slide down slides, climb, tea-tor tat-or, and play with several different kinds of toys! The nice thing is there is a door, so you can sit and watch them play knowing they can't escape!

I think it is time to go home! Kenedy loves to play in the water, but she HATES to wear the water shields, but I don't want to take a socking wet baby outside in the cold!

Kenedy's favorite game to play when she wakes up, before bed, and at dinner is Peek-a-Boo! She laughs and laughs when you hide and she loves to hide also!

Girly Girl

Just Like every girl, Kenedy loves shoes! Shoes is actually been one of the first words she says!
Kenedy loves to wear necklaces! She will bring those purple beads and that whistle to me five thousand times a day so I will put them on her. Last Sunday the purple beads had to come to church with us, I was glad for them though because they kept her busy! As you can see she needs some help coordinating her accessories!

Just like every girl, accessories are great for awhile, but then can get painful and annoying after all day of wearing them. The first thing I take off when I get home is my jewelry. Kenedy loves to put her bows on when it is time to go, but she doesn't even make it to the car before the bow comes of. She needs to learn, pain is beauty!

We went to visit my mom and they had Pizza for dinner. Kenedy quickly crawled over and took the last piece out of the box, it was a hoot! The saying she be changed from "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" to "Pizza, Chocolate, and Diet Coke are a Girl's Best Friend"! Don't you agree?

Just Like Mom

I love being Kenedy's Mom! She is so much fun! She loves to copy whatever I'm doing. When I'm getting ready she wants to sit in the sink and watch what I'm doing. We then have to put pretend makeup on kenedy! She goes in my closet and tries to put my shoes on and walk around, she falls of course so now she just carries them around. Every time I get ready to go somewhere, I'm always looking for my shoes! When I go running she wants to go too. This pictures is of her with my sport bra on! She is always getting in my drawers trying to put my clothes on!

Beef Stew

Kenedy loves beef stew! When she is done she will say, "More!" After she is full she licks her bowl clean! It is so fun to watch her enjoy the simplest things so much!

My mom bought this water slide last year and it is a hit! My friend Heidi brought her water slide over to my mom's house and we set both water slides up and let the kids play all day! They loved it! On the Other water slide there are squirt guns and the kids thought it was really funny to squirt all the moms with them. So I grabbed Calon (Tanner and Ty's friend) and dunked him in the water. During my revenge I managed to get soaked, so I thought what the heck and joined the kids on the slides in my clothes. It was fun while it lasted, but walking around in wet jean capris makes you feel like you just gained 100 pounds. It got really tiring to walk around. It probably wasn't the smartest idea to get in with my clothes on, next time I'll bring my swimming suit for sure! Kenedy had so much fun on the slides she would sit at the end and cry for someone to take her down the slide.

Nenny and Nay chillin' in the sun on the same chair. These two love each other so much! When they see each other they run up and scream and then wave at each other, it is so cute! They even enjoy fighting with one another. In fact one day they were fighting over a toy and ended up on top of each other wrestling for it.

Kinlee and Kenedy. My best friend growing up and I have the same name, Heidi. She had a little girl and named her Kinlee Kay and I had a little girl and named her Kenedy K. When you are calling for them it sounds like you are saying the same thing we laugh at how we did that not even thinking about it. Maybe they will end up being best friend too!
